CSL Ranked on the 2022 Australian Financial Review Best Places to Work List

CSL ranked fourth on the Health Industry list, from a total of more than 750 organisations nominated in all sectors across Australia and New Zealand.

MELBOURNE, 27, April: Today, CSL is honoured to be recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Best Places to Work. The prestigious annual list, published by The Australian Financial Review and BOSS Magazine, is based on a rigorous, independent assessment process across a wide range of people and culture criteria that are critical to employees feeling engaged and motivated at work.

CSL ranked fourth on the Health Industry list, from a total of more than 750 organisations nominated in all sectors across Australia and New Zealand. The assessment was made up of an independent survey completed by over 350 CSL employees and a written submission, with questions relating to policies, practices and programs that exist within CSL to support employees and ensure they are able to perform at their best.

CSL was recognised for its achievements and practices in support of professional development opportunities, agile working and health & wellbeing activities, among other initiatives.

Executive Director, Global Human Resources for CSL, Yvette Saunders said, “This is a proud moment for the CSL workforce - all of whom strive to bring their best selves to work every single day.

“Our values and the policies we have in place provide important guidance to our team and set the tone for good decision making. But ultimately, it’s our people who model our values and ensure that we work in a culture where everyone’s contributions are valued.”

CSL offers a range of workplace benefits designed to support individuals from diverse backgrounds with their career aspirations, including a global agile working policy; professional development programs designed to support ‘Promising Futures’; study assistance; support for international assignments and a global employee share plan that empowers employees to share in the ownership, growth and future success of CSL.

“Our workplace environment is collaborative, global and dynamic, which fosters innovation and motivates the best and brightest to succeed,” said Ms Saunders.

The CSL Australia Graduate Program exemplifies the scope for career development within CSL’s global business. The two-year program offers tailored rotations through a range of functions, offering participants real projects with real responsibilities supported by practical, on the job training and mentoring from seasoned professionals.

Commenting on her experience in the program, Emily Ryan, Medical Science Liaison for CSL Behring Australia said, “The variety and range of responsibilities that I held during my time on the program were invaluable. I completed the program three years ago and since then, have held a wide range of roles within CSL Behring’s Commercial Operations business.

“Having worked in demand forecasting for two years, I was recently promoted to a customer facing field role, playing an important part in representing CSL to the healthcare community. For me, CSL has proved a great place to work, and afforded me career development that I could only dream of when I was an undergrad.”

The AFR Best Places to Work ranking adds to CSL’s recent award by Forbes Magazine, naming the Company among America’s Best Employers for 2022. The annual rankings from Forbes and Statista, the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, are based on an independent survey of approximately 60,000 U.S. employees.
